The adversaries (not necessarily villains) this time around besides Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke, Sebastien Blood aka the Skull, Isabel Rochev and The League of Assassins. Each has their story of origin and woven into the storyline.

Also, we are introduced to several characters including Sara Lance aka The Canary, Barry Allen aka The Flash, vengeful Helena Bertinelli as the Huntress, Amanda Waller as head of ARGUS and Nyssa (Sara's love interest and daugher of Ra'as al Ghul, head of the League of Assassins).

Oh yea... stay tuned for the new spin-off TV series, The Flash :)

The main plotline of season 2 stems from a chemical known as Mirakuru which gives Slade Wilson and also Roy Harper their superpowers.

The season finale throws some surprises including the death of Oliver's family member as well as the return of Malcolm Merlyn to get his daughter back.

All in all, Arrow Season 2 was a blast with great story and strong cast of characters ! Plus looks like there is also a new team of supervillain heroes in town and their name is Suicide Squad :)

2014 TV Series Review - The 100

the100 00

The 100 is an interesting science fiction cum survival of the fittest show. There is a lot of things to like and dislike but overall, it shows promising signs.

It depicts a post-apocalyptic age where mankind is not able to live on Earth and faces extinction in space. The show starts 97 years after nuclear war decimated life on Earth. There are 2 colony of survivors in space (The Ark) and on Earth (grounders).

the100 01

People in the Ark are facing oxygen shortage due to a non-repairable life support system in the Ark. The situation is so severe that any crime, regardless how small or big results in the offender to be 'floated', meaning thrown out into space. The only exception is that if the offender is below 18 years old.

the100 05

However, this changes after 100 juvenile offenders are sent to Earth and check if it's habitable. In the time between the ship carrying the 100 is sent to Earth and lands on Earth, we are introduced to several of the main characters namely, Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) the heroine of the show and whose fate intertwines with people on the Ark. Then there is Bellamy Blake (Bobby Morley), who supposedly managed to get onboard the ship carrying the 100 by performing a horendous crime.

The other characters in the show include Octavia Blake (Marie Avgeropoulos), Finn Collins (Thomas McDonell) and others.

A lot of the major events happen on Earth such as discovery of creatures and also the grounders. There is also some love and romance thrown into the mix with Clarke and Finn and later on Finn's girlfriend from the Ark.

Overall, I would say give season 1 a chance and hope that Season 2 will improve further on its limited premise of living in a post-nuclear world and survival of the fittest.
