2014 TV Series Review - Stalker

This new TV series by CBS shows some promise but the critics out there have heavily chastised the series for being an off-shoot of Criminal Minds.
Dylan McDermott have also been targeted due to his recent TV roles as a police detective (Hostages and now Stalker).

I was hoping to see Maggie Q in another Nikita season but it looks like she will be in this series as Detective Beth Davis, head of a Threat Assessment Unit (TAU). Joining her will Det. Jack Larsen (McDermott) who just transferred from New York to LA.
Others in the team include Detectives Ben Caldwell (Victor Rasuk) and Janice Lawrence (Mariana Klaveno) who doesn't make much of an impact except for the bickering and sex.

The characterization of Beth Davis as a former victim constantly faced with fear and Larsen who is stalking his ex-wife and son.
The first few episodes brings some suspense into the storyline akin to the original Scream movie franchise. If you think the feeling is somewhat familiar, that is because the series screenwriter, Kevin Williamson wrote the screenplay for the Scream franchise as well I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Overall, I wouldn't say the series is a complete disappointment but it needs to be stronger in its storyline and stop having too many entanglements in between.
