Happy Chinese New Year to everyone & may there be happiness, prosperity, and many happy returns throughout the year of the Rabbit 2011 :)

Someone asked me whether Santa and the God of Prosperity is the same person .. that got me thinking ... hmm .. there are indeed some similarities between both persons i.e.

1. Both wear costumes
2. Both distribute something

.. and most significantly, both wear hats (or caps in some instances ...)

There is another similarity in some versions .. both also ahve beards ... (my example below is clean-shaven though :P ..)

To illustrate, you can compare both persons below :

Anyway, this year is the year of the Rabbit .. and it brings about a harmony to a year which hopefully will fulfill everyone's wishes and enable all to revel in joy and laughter of family and friends ...

finally, HAPPY RABBIT YEAR & GONG XI FA CAI again to everyone ... bye for now, going to eat my 'mee suah' in a while :)

Happy Chinese New Year :)

Happy Chinese New Year is around the corner. This year been a particularly busy year for me as my new job requires some amount of attention compared to last year. Have been busy buying new clothes and decorations for the condominium.

According to chinese zodiac, this year is the year of the Golden Bunny (or Rabbit). The Bunny characterizes graciousness, good manners, sound counsel kindness and sensitivity to beauty. For bunny guys, his soft speech and graceful and nimble ways embody all the desirable traits of a successful diplomat or seasoned politician. For bunny gals, she will be very considerate and understanding with her friends: a great gal to work with, shop with or just tell stories with. She is delightfully warm and witty and her company is always relaxing.

Most probably newly-weds are aiming to have a bunny baby. I know of several friends who are expecting a new-born this year. Congratulations to all of them :)

This year's decorations around the malls have been fairly the same. Not much special decos in several places i have been to but the crowd has been tremendous especially yesterday (30th Jan). Throngs of people flooded Midvalley as early as 10am ..I reached there with my wife at close to 11am.

Chinese New Year this year looks set to be rainy and cloudy unlike previous years where it was expected to be sun-shiny throughout the CNY period. I guess this can be attributed to changes in the global weather. Anyway, be prepared to bring your umbrellas out :)

Thinking about CNY brings me back to younger days when my family and I will travel out of KL to have reunion dinners with other relatives. It was a fun travelling time to places like Genting, Terengganu, Penang, Haadyai and Pangkor. Those were wonderful memories.

Anyway, happy CNY to all families and friends and may this year bring lots of prosperity and good health to everyone .. Gong Xi Fa Cai :)
